Instructions

To type directly with the computer keyboard:

  • Type twice a vowel to get a long vowel
    example: aa to get ā
  • Type w to get the diacritic of the vowel a
  • For the letters with a diacritic sign, add an apostrophe
    example: t', j' (or c), H' (or x), d', s', S', T', G', k' (or g)
  • Type tt, dd, rr for the special characters (like in Urdu)

How to type with this Online Kashmiri Keyboard

Using the online Kashmiri keyboard above, simply click on the letters, alphabets or symbols to enter them into the text box. After that you can click the Copy button or press Ctrl+C to copy. Or use the Save button to save the typed characters as a text file.

To directly type these alphabets in the above text box with your computer keyboard, obey the following instructions.

  • This Online keyboard above has some characters attached to some of the Kashmiri character keys. 
  • In the text box, simply type these characters that are indicated on top of the keys to get the corresponding Kashmiri alphabet, letter or symbol.
